Premises licence variation: full, minor or DPS change, and each fee
Updated
A change to a premises licence is a variation, and which kind it is sets the fee. A full variation costs the same as a new licence for the band, £100 to £635; a minor variation costs £89; changing the designated premises supervisor costs £23.

The three kinds of change
| Change | Fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Full variation | £100 to £635, the new licence fee for the band | Manchester City Council: Premises licence fees |
| Minor variation | £89 | Central Bedfordshire Council: Fees for premises licences |
| Change of designated premises supervisor | £23 | South Norfolk and Broadland: Vary the DPS |
| Transfer to a new licence holder | £23 | Central Bedfordshire Council: Fees for premises licences |
Manchester City Council lists a new premises licence and a variation at the same fee in each band, so a full variation is priced exactly as a new application.

Which kind applies
Whether a change counts as minor or full is decided by the council under the Licensing Act 2003; a licensing consultant can look at the change you have in mind and tell you which route and fee apply. This page does not advise on any particular change.
